800th Anniversary Reception - San Francisco, CA Print
800th Reception

On December 10, 2009, nearly 300 alumni and friends gathered at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco for a festive 800th Anniversary celebration with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alison Richard, and other distinguished visitors from Cambridge.

Alumni enjoyed conversation, live jazz and refreshments, as well as a view of the Golden Gate Bridge encased in the famous San Francisco fog, before being welcomed by Cambridge in America Chairman William H. Janeway (Pembroke College).

Professor Richard then spoke to alumni, reaffirming Cambridge’s worldwide influence and vitality for the past 800 years as well as her faith and renewed energy and optimism for Cambridge and its future.

After listening to the Vice-Chancellor’s inspirational words, alumni enjoyed another drink and lively conversation with fellow Cantabrigians.
