Principal of Newnham College, Cambridge

Dame Patricia Hodgson is the Principal of Newnham College, Cambridge.  She is a member of the BBC Trust and a Governor of the Wellcome Trust.  Until recently she was Chair of the Higher Education Regulation Review Group and is a member of the Higher Education Funding Council for England.  She serves on the Committee for Standards in Public Life and is a non-executive director of the Competition Commission.  Until 2004 she was Chief Executive of the Independent Television Commission and, before that, a main board director of the BBC.  She also served for six years as a member of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission. Patricia read history at Newnham College, Cambridge.
