Join Trinity Hall and Cambridge in America for an inspiring evening on Thursday, 26 March 2026, as they welcome Cambridge alumni and friends for a thought‑provoking talk, warm conversation, and a chance to reconnect with the Cambridge community.
Hosted in the inviting R42 Event Space, the evening begins at 6:00pm with relaxed mingling over drinks and nibbles. At 6:30pm, Mary will open the main programme with a welcome and introduction, followed by a 25‑minute keynote talk from Tugce. The session will conclude with an engaging Q&A chaired by Mary, offering attendees the opportunity to explore key ideas more deeply.
After the discussion, guests are invited to stay for further conversation and connection until 8:00pm.

Speakers
Tugce is the co-founder of Eloquent AI and a serial entrepreneur. Previously, she founded Streetbees, scaling it into a 200-person global AI company with $80M in VC funding and multi-million dollar enterprise deals with Fortune 500 clients. She began her career as a strategy consultant, advising tech companies on GTM strategy. A Cambridge-trained economist and published author, she’s received numerous awards including Deloitte Fast 50, WEF Tech Pioneer and EY Entrepreneur of the Year (London). Read more.
Mary Hockaday has had a distinguished career in broadcast journalism. She is the first woman to take up the role of Master at Trinity Hall in its 670-year history.
Mary left the BBC in 2021 after a long career in news journalism. Most recently she was Director of BBC World Service and for several years was Controller of BBC World Service English, responsible for the BBC’s radio and digital audio services in English for audiences around the world.
Before this, Mary was Head of the BBC Newsroom, overseeing the BBC’s flagship daily television and radio news bulletins, and news online. She has held a variety of other positions in the BBC, including Editor of BBC World Service News from 2001-06. Biographer, Fulbright Scholar and award-winning news editor, Mary also covered post-communist Czechoslovakia for the BBC and The Independent.
