Cambridge in America is pleased to welcome Peter Dawson as Board Chair

Cambridge in America (CAm) is delighted to announce that Peter Dawson will be assuming the role of Chair of the Cambridge in America Board, effective August 1, 2020. Peter is preceded by Dr. Alan Smith, who served as Chair from 2014 to 2020.

Peter brings a wealth of experience to the Chair role, having served on its Board since 2012 as well as its Executive Committee, San Francisco Regional Committee and the University of Cambridge’s Campaign Board. Peter is also an Honorary Fellow at St. Catharine’s College, and a Fellow Benefactor at Selwyn College. He brings extensive professional experience to his position as well. He is currently a non-executive director of Bechtel Group, Inc., where he was previously the group CFO and formerly the president of the company’s Global Infrastructure Division headquartered in London. He has worked for Bechtel since 1978. He is also a director of the British Foreign Policy Group. Peter matriculated at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge in 1974, reading for a BA in natural sciences.

We congratulate Peter on this new position, are excited to have him at the helm, and look forward to many great things to come under his leadership. Cambridge in America as well as our colleagues at the collegiate University would like to thank Alan Smith for his exemplary six years as Chair, and 20 years of wonderful Board service.
