Gavin Flynn

Gavin Flynn took up the role of Senior Bursar of Downing College, Cambridge in September 2020. Prior to this, Gavin worked in consulting (1994-1998), for a tech start-up (1999-2001), and from 2001-2019 was an executive at the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) in senior roles including Investor Relations and Commercial Partnerships, ending up as Senior Vice-President for Strategy and Corporate Development.

After leaving IHG in 2019, Gavin moved into the education sector as the Chair of Finance for the Vine Multi-Academy Trust, and as the Chair of Herts for Learning, the UK’s largest School Company, providing products and services to schools in Hertfordshire. He lectures in hotel management at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland.

Gavin studied Chemistry at Oxford, has an MBA from INSEAD (1999) and an MSc in Behavioural Science from LSE (2018).
