Anthony Freeling, PhD assumed office as the ninth president of Hughes Hall on 1 October 2014 having been a City Fellow of the College since 2008. He studied at St John’s College, Cambridge graduating with first class honours in mathematics followed by an MPhil and a PhD in management studies. He is Chair of the Colleges’ Committee (the group of all Heads of House) and a member of University Council. He is also a trustee of the PHG Foundation, a leader in public health genomics. Dr. Freeling spent 18 years of his career working at McKinsey & Company in the UK, where he was a senior partner, leading its marketing and sales practice across Europe. He is married to Laurel Powers-Freeling, who is also a Fellow of Hughes Hall and currently chair of Uber UK and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Europe and also of Cambridge University Health Partners and the UK’s National Joint Registry.
