Reuben Brigety

Reuben Brigety (Sidney Sussex College) is an American diplomat and academic serving as the United States Ambassador to South Africa. Brigety is a graduate of Sidney Sussex College where he obtained a Master of Philosophy in International Relations. After graduating, he served as a US Naval officer, then returned to the UK and received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in International Relations from Sidney Sussex College in 2003. 

Yuri Kim

Yuri Kim (Magdalene College) is a Korean American diplomat serving as the United States Ambassador to Albania. She is the first Korean American woman to represent the US as an ambassador and the first from Guam. Kim earned her Master of Philosophy in political theory from Cambridge in 1994, after which she returned to the United States to begin her career in foreign service with the State Department. In addition to English, Kim also speaks Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Turkish. 

Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón

Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón (Emmanuel College) is a Dominican American diplomat serving as Ambassador to Spain and Andorra. She also served as United States Ambassador to Uruguay under President Barack Obama. Most recently, Ambassador Reynoso served as Chief of Staff to First Lady Dr Jill Biden. She is a graduate of Emmanuel College where she earned a Master of Philosophy in development studies. After working for several years at prestigious law firms as a private attorney, she left private practice to work for the Obama administration. 

Karen Pierce

Karen Pierce (Girton College) was the United Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York since March 2018. Prior to this role, Karen served as the Director General for Political Affairs and Chief Operating Officer of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, from 2016. She has held numerous positions representing the UK around the globe since she joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1981, including two positions in the US first as the Private Secretary to the British Ambassador to the United States from 1992 – 1995, and then as Deputy Permanent Representative and Ambassador at the UK Mission to the UN in New York in 2006.
