Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 6.30pm to 8.30pm EDT
Join us for a reception to meet Luke Webster, Bursar of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He will be in Boston to attend the Global ARC 2025 Conference (Asset Allocation, Risk & Return) attended by the world’s leading long-term asset managers including university endowment managers.
Luke read Mathematics at Magdalene College, Cambridge and received an M.Sc. at Birkbeck College. After an early career in the wine industry, he trained as public finance accountant, eventually joining the Greater London Authority (GLA) to lead its treasury function. His first assignment was to work out how to finance the biggest public works project in Europe at the time, Crossrail, now open and running as the Elizabeth Line. He then began a portfolio career, combing his GLA role with roles including Chief Finance and Risk Officer at the London Pensions Fund Authority, partner at small private equity firm and CEO of the asset management arm he created for the GLA. He became Bursar of Corpus Christi College, Oxford earlier this year.
With this varied and distinguished background, Mr. Webster is uniquely qualified to share his perspectives on how universities can sustain their vital missions of teaching, research and social and economic development into the future, especially at a time when leading universities in the US and UK face significant challenges to their long-term funding models.
