The Mistress of Girton, Dr Elisabeth Kendall, invites you to an informal drinks reception and talk entitled Militant Jihad and the Battle for Hearts and Minds.

The Mistress will explore how terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda and so-called Islamic State infiltrate societies and spread at a grass-roots level inside the Middle East. Drawing on her field research in Yemen, Dr Kendall will also reflect on lessons we might learn from the ‘terrorists’ themselves.

This is a great opportunity to meet the new Mistress and learn more about her research, as well as to re-connect with old friends from Girton and meet new ones.

Click here to register for this event or email alumni@girton.cam.ac.uk by Thursday, December 2nd, to let us know whether you and a guest can attend.
