
Gabrielle S. Bacon
Gabrielle Bacon holds a PhD in Land Economy (Environmental Services) from Cambridge University, UK, where her research centered on human rights violations incurred by environmental degradation.
Actively involved in environmental protection on all levels, Gabrielle Bacon is a US Board member ClientEarth, a global environmental organization, and Peconic Baykeeper, which tackles local water pollution issues on Long Island. Dr. Bacon serves on the Council of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for North America to the International Commission of the Voices of Future Generations Project Book Series which, in partnership with UNESCO, globally solicits and promotes children’s stories about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A US Board member of Cambridge University, UK, Dr Bacon also serves on the Council of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, as well as the Advisory Council to the Dean. Gabrielle is also a Trustee of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University – Weill Cornell Medical and a member Women’s Board of The Boys’ Club of New York, 150-year-old organization providing varied and enriching after-school programming throughout Manhattan for boys in need of additional support.
A graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Bacon also received her Master of Philosophy in International Relations from Cambridge University, where her thesis focused on the International Court of Justice.
Gabrielle Bacon speaks fluent French, Italian and Spanish and has three children.
